The Pool had been filled in 20 years ago when the current homeowner tired of maintaining it. We thought you DIY types may be curious about the process...
Not knowing what lay underneath the soil, where the plumbing was what condition the pool structure was, we decided to build a pool within the pool.
The new owner had been in the pool business in another state 25 years, ago thus had some experience, but things changed over the year so a local experienced company would be needed.
After several bids and interviews we settled on Polar Pools & Spas. They completed the project in less than 8 weeks and did a great job.
Not only did they have to deal with all of the concrete pool decking but the pavers that had sat there over 50 years.
A Bobcat Jackhammer was brought in to remove the deck, and all of the soil from within. The old pool was 9' deep and approx. 20' x 40'
A mountain of soil was excavated and removed from the property.
All new plumbing was installed, "punched" through the concrete walls to begin construction of a pool within a pool.
Most people these days prefer a "Sport" pool for volleyball, basketball and lounging thus the pool made shallower
After steel and plumbing came concrete.
Then Travertine Coping & Tile
and final step Pebbletec finish
Next came Putting Greens, more travertine pavers, fire pit, hot tub. and landscaping
Patio Before
Great local company transformed the patio into a beautiful surface with added skid resistance
Putting Greens and grass area includes Fire Pit
Truly an oasis of fun
